Newcastle Family Law Specialists
At Mullane & Lindsay we understand that Family Law issues generally, and relationship breakdown in particular, causes enormous stress and uncertainty about the future. We combine skills in listening, advising and supporting clients at what is frequently a time of great upheaval in their lives.
Our Newcastle family law team is very experienced at guiding clients and their families through the many issues that can arise in relation to children, financial matters, and planning for the future. We don’t only address the legal issues: we try to take some of the load, and help put you back in control.
Family, Relationship and Matrimonial Law
We also understand that a number of areas of Family Law can overlap when a relationship breakdown occurs, and our family law team has both broad experience beyond matrimonial or relationship law issues and also works closely with our other lawyers when appropriate, to provide you with a complete service.
Our team is headed by partner Mark Sullivan and includes senior solicitor Vivien Carty. Both Mark and Vivien are accredited specialists in Family Law. We can help in the following areas:
- Property Division, Superannuation and Financial issues
- Parenting Issues (residence and shared parenting arrangements)
- Child support
- Co-habitation, Pre-nuptial and Separation Agreements
- Blended Family and Second Marriage Issues (will making, estate planning and testamentary trusts, superannuation entitlements, will disputes)
- Adoption, Surrogacy, Gender and Sexuality discrimination
- Domestic and Personal Violence Issues
Mullane & Lindsay works closely with and has close relationships with many legal and counselling agencies working in the Family Relationship Sector. Mark Sullivan is on the Country Committee of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, a member of the Community Advisory Committee of the Newcastle Family Relationship Centre, and a panel member of the ‘Towards Healing’ Committee. Mark is also a trustee of the Nationwide Superannuation Fund.
